Spesific conventional immunotherapy may be able to modify the natural course of the allergic disease. Immunotherapy has proven to be effective if properly used. Immunotherapy inhibits the development of clinical asthma in children treated for allergic rhinitis. Conventional immunotheray has secondary preventive effect on the children treated with immunoterapy and it can prevent new allergic sensitization. The effectiveness of allergen immunotherapy is allergen spesific and dose depented. Tolerable high dose allergen are preverable. Complications of allergen immunotherapy are more common with aqueous extract than modified extracts. Allergen immunotherapy with specific standardized allergenic materials in the highest tolerable dose can be effective. The selection of patient should be made carefully.
